Executive summary

Three findings that should reshape your 2026 plan.

Finding 01

The market is uniformly under-prepared.

The gap between the best industry (Ecommerce, 52) and the worst (Fintech, 49) is three points. There is no industry winning at AI visibility. This is an open category.

Finding 02

Measurement is the silent crisis.

Only 9% of audited companies can segment AI-driven traffic. 78% either don't look or see referrals they can't attribute. You can't improve what you don't measure.

Finding 03

Company size doesn't protect you.

The 11–50 bracket scored highest (52). 1,000+ companies scored 50. Enterprise authority doesn't translate to AI citations. Agility does.

Section 1 · Score distribution

Most B2B companies sit in the warm zone: visible but unremarkable.

Score bands are split into four ranges. Only 11% of audited companies crossed 70 ("Hot"). The middle 86% are visible enough that AI knows they exist, but not consistently cited or recommended.

ColdScore 13–24

The takeaway: 89% of B2B companies score below 70. Most can be overtaken by an organised 12-week sprint.

Section 2 · Industry leaderboard

The strongest industry beats the weakest by three points.

Ecommerce edges ahead because product-detail pages are unusually well-structured: schema-rich, comparable, and packed with literal answers (price, dimensions, materials). The fintech and healthcare gap traces to regulatory-driven content tone, which reads as evasive to an AI synthesizer.

Services50 / 100 · n=132
SaaS50 / 100 · n=148
Healthcare49 / 100 · n=142
Fintech49 / 100 · n=147

Practical implication: Whichever industry you're in, the leader has minimal moat. A disciplined three-month effort puts you in the top 11%.

Methodology & FAQ

How the report was built.

How was the dataset assembled?+

712 B2B companies were submitted through our AI Visibility Audit, a 10-question assessment covering platform coverage, accuracy of AI responses, content readiness, measurement maturity, and competitive positioning. Industries and company sizes are self-reported on intake.

How is the score calculated?+

Each response is scored 0–100 across five dimensions: platform breadth (which assistants you cover), answer accuracy (how often AI gets your facts right), content readiness (whether your pages are written for AI synthesis), measurement (whether you can attribute AI-driven traffic), and competitive coverage (whether AI mentions you when asked about your category).

Is this report free?+

Yes. The full report is free to read on this page. No email gate. If you want to audit your own company against this benchmark, the 4-minute assessment is also free.

How often will this be updated?+

We refresh the dataset quarterly. Major shifts (a new top-tier AI assistant launching, a Google AI Overview rollout) trigger an interim update.
