Los Angeles Link Building Agency
Los Angeles link building that earns placements on entertainment, fashion and e-commerce publications with real audiences. LA is one of the most competitive online markets in the world, and brands that build genuine authority are the ones that win the sale before the click.
Real Mojo Dojo clients, on the record.
88 cities, one very crowded search market.
The county covers more than 4,000 square miles and 88 cities, and people search that way. They type Santa Monica, Pasadena, Long Beach, Koreatown or "the Valley", not the county name. Ranking on the Westside says little about visibility in the South Bay or the San Gabriel Valley, so a link plan has to decide which places matter and earn authority for the pages built for them.
Then consider who you are competing with. The county had 1,128,124 businesses with no payroll and 304,988 employer establishments in 2023, in an economy worth about $1.003 trillion in 2024. Many brands here sell nationally, not just locally: direct-to-consumer labels shipping from the port complex, studios and creators chasing a global audience, and hospitality businesses pitching to 49.5 million visitors a year. Their backlink profiles are built from national press, and matching them takes stories with real news value rather than bulk placements.
Language opens a third route. More than half of residents speak a language other than English at home, and 37.6% speak Spanish. Spanish-language outlets, along with Chinese, Tagalog, Armenian and Korean community media, are pitched far less often than English-language press, and a link from the right one reaches customers competitors ignore.
Link building is one part of our SEO services. We choose the pages that should rank, work out why rivals win, and earn editorial links through outreach, digital PR and assets worth citing. Links are never sold in packages.
Our nationwide offer is described on the Link Building USA page. Other cities we cover: New York, Chicago, Houston, Austin and Miami.

Industries we help in Los Angeles.
The industries that shape search across Southern California, and the links that help each one.
Entertainment, streaming and digital content
Studios, vendors and creators compete for a national audience. We earn coverage in trade press, festival and industry sites, and pop culture outlets with genuine story angles.
Ecommerce and direct-to-consumer brands
Brands that ship nationally need national links. Gift guides, product roundups, niche reviewers and data-led PR build authority for category and product pages ahead of the holiday quarter.
Trade, logistics and warehousing
The two ports handle roughly 40% of US containerized waterborne cargo. Freight, customs and 3PL firms earn links from supply chain trade titles and association directories.
Tourism, hospitality and food
Visitors generated $42.6 billion in business sales in 2025. Restaurants, hotels and attractions earn links from travel writers and city guides, with PR planned well ahead of LA28.
Health care practices
Clinics and specialty practices earn trust through health associations, referral partners and bilingual patient resources, never paid directories that put rankings at risk.
Aerospace and biosciences
Suppliers and engineering firms sell to a handful of technical buyers. Technical publications, research partners and industry bodies provide the credibility those buyers look for.

How we judge a link before we pitch.
Not all links help. We check every prospect against the same standards before we pitch it:
- Relevance. The site and the linking page cover a topic close to yours.
- Real audience. The site has genuine readers and visible organic traffic, not just a metric score.
- Editorial placement. The link sits inside useful content and was placed because an editor chose to.
- Indexed and crawlable. The page is in Google's index and the link is a standard link Google can follow.
- Clean neighborhood. The site does not sell links openly or link out to spam.
- Natural anchor text. Descriptive and varied, never packed with keywords.
Third-party authority scores can help us sort prospects, but we treat them as a filter, not a target. A relevant link on a site your customers read beats a high score on a site nobody visits.
How we earn links.
Six methods, weighted per client. A Culver City streaming startup and a Long Beach freight broker need very different links.
Digital PR
Data-led stories, expert commentary and campaigns pitched to journalists and editors, earning coverage and links from publications your customers read.
Editorial outreach
Personalized outreach to site owners and editors whose readers would genuinely benefit from your page, with a clear reason to link.
Linkable assets
Research, tools, guides and original data that other sites cite because there is nothing better to point to.
Unlinked mentions and broken links
We find sites that already mention your brand without linking, and dead links that your content can replace, then ask for the link.
Partnerships and industry bodies
Suppliers, associations, sponsors and events that publish member or partner pages, earned through real relationships.
Guest contributions with editorial standards
Expert articles on relevant publications where the link is earned by the quality of the piece, not by a payment.

What link building and content authority delivered for our clients.
Results from three published case studies where earning quality links was part of the strategy.
Links we will not build.
Google's spam policies define link spam as creating links to or from a site primarily to manipulate search rankings. Its examples include buying or selling links for ranking purposes, excessive link exchanges, links made by automated programs, and large-scale guest posting with optimized anchor text. Those tactics can cost a site its rankings, and the damage is slow and expensive to reverse.
We do not use private blog networks, automated link tools, paid links that pass ranking credit, or link exchange schemes. Where a placement involves payment or sponsorship, it is marked with the appropriate rel attribute. If a site already carries links like these, we will tell you plainly and recommend how to deal with them.
This is the trade we make in your favor: fewer links, each one earned and defensible.
How we run each campaign.

We review your backlink profile and compare it with the sites ranking above you, to see exactly what is missing.

Prospecting
We build a vetted list of relevant sites and editors, checked against our quality standards.
Outreach and placement
Personalized outreach, follow-up and negotiation until links are live and verified.
Reporting and refinement
Monthly reporting on links earned, rankings and organic traffic. We double down on the tactics that move the pages that matter.

Areas we serve in Los Angeles.
We work with businesses across the county remotely, using video calls and shared reporting. That includes Downtown, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Silver Lake, Echo Park and Koreatown, and on the Westside Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City and Beverly Hills.
In the valleys we support firms in Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Van Nuys and Woodland Hills. To the south and east we work with Long Beach, Torrance, Inglewood, El Segundo, Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles, Downey, Whittier and Pomona, and further north with Santa Clarita, Lancaster and Palmdale. Links are aimed at the page for each place, because that is how people search.

What is link building?
Link building is the process of earning links from other websites to your own. Search engines treat relevant links from trusted sites as a signal that a page is worth ranking, so a structured link building program supports rankings for the pages you care about.
Do you work with Los Angeles businesses?
Yes, remotely. Kickoff and monthly reviews happen over video calls on Pacific Time, and a shared report shows every earned link, the page it supports and the ranking change behind it. Nobody has to sit in traffic for a meeting.
Why do backlinks matter for SEO?
Links help search engines find your pages and judge how trusted they are. Content and technical health get a page into contention, and links from relevant, trusted sites often decide who wins a competitive result. Link building works best alongside your SEO services, not instead of it.
How long does link building take to work?
Expect months rather than weeks. Links have to be earned, published, crawled and then weighed by search engines, and the pages they point to have to be strong enough to benefit. We report links earned each month so you can see progress before rankings move.
Is it safe to buy backlinks?
Google's spam policies list buying or selling links for ranking purposes as link spam. Links that involve payment should carry a rel sponsored or nofollow attribute, which means they do not pass ranking credit. We earn links through outreach, digital PR and content, and do not buy links to pass ranking credit.
What is a good backlink?
A good backlink comes from a relevant site with a real audience, is placed inside useful editorial content by a real editor, sits on a page Google has indexed, and uses natural anchor text. One link like that is worth more than dozens from irrelevant directories or networks.
How many backlinks do I need?
There is no fixed number. The right target comes from the sites currently ranking for your keywords: how many relevant sites link to them, and which of those are missing from your profile. We build that comparison in the first phase and set targets from it.
What is the difference between link building and digital PR?
Digital PR is one way of building links. It earns coverage and links from journalists and publications through stories, data and commentary. Link building is the wider discipline and also includes editorial outreach, linkable assets, unlinked mention recovery, partnerships and resource page placements.
Do links still matter for AI search?
Links still shape traditional rankings, and reputable third-party coverage is also the kind of source AI answer engines tend to draw on. We cannot guarantee that any AI tool will cite you. Our AI SEO work looks at how your brand appears in those answers, and link building supports it by strengthening the sites and pages that mention you.
Do you guarantee rankings or a number of links?
No. Nobody controls how search engines rank pages, and a guaranteed number of links usually means links are being bought or manufactured. We commit to the process, the quality standards and the reporting, and we show the effect on rankings, traffic and inquiries.
How do you choose which pages to build links to?
We prioritize the pages closest to revenue or leads, such as service pages, product categories and high-intent content, and we look at where a modest amount of extra authority is enough to move a page onto page one. A few links go to the homepage and to linkable assets to keep the profile natural.
What if my site already has bad or paid links?
We start by auditing your existing profile and check for paid schemes, networks and irrelevant links. Most low-quality links can simply be ignored by Google. If there are signs of a paid link scheme or a penalty risk, we will recommend removal or disavow, and can pair the review with a full SEO audit.
How will I know it is working?
Each month you receive a report showing the links earned, the sites and pages they came from, where they point, and the movement in rankings, organic traffic and inquiries for the target pages. We tie the results to business outcomes rather than to a count of links.
My brand sells nationwide. Should links be local or national?
Mostly national, with local where it helps. Category and product pages compete with brands across the country, so they need national press, gift guides and niche publications. Location pages and a physical store, if you have one, benefit from neighborhood and city-level sources as well.
Can you pitch Spanish-language and other in-language media?
Yes. More than half of residents speak another language at home, and Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Armenian and Korean outlets are pitched far less often than English-language press. We point those links at pages written for each audience.
