Real Mojo Dojo clients, on the record.
Bidding where Wall Street sets the price.
Wall Street accounted for 20.2% of all economic activity in the city in 2024, and the State Comptroller estimates that 1 in 13 city jobs is tied directly or indirectly to the securities industry. Finance, tech and media firms set the benchmark for marketing budgets here, and their spending lifts click prices for everyone who shares an auction with them, from law firms to accountants to software startups that raised $24 billion in venture capital in 2024.
At street level the pressure is different but just as real. The city had 183,000 small businesses in 2023, the most ever recorded, and about one in three had started in the previous two years. Population density was 29,303 people per square mile in 2020, so dozens of similar businesses can sit inside one small search radius. People search by borough or neighborhood, from Astoria to the Upper East Side, and 47.7% of residents speak a language other than English at home.
PPC management is how you get value out of that environment. It covers planning, building, running and improving paid campaigns on Google, Microsoft, Meta and LinkedIn, and judging them on leads, sales and revenue rather than clicks or impressions. In a market this expensive, the gains come from precision: tight geography, sharp offers and tracking that proves what works. Our guide to SEO, PPC and SEM lays out the paid and organic trade-offs, and our SEO service covers the organic side.

Official figures on density, competition and the finance sector that drives up budgets.
Where PPC budgets leak, and what we do about it.
Six common ways PPC budgets leak. Two of them are sharper in the densest big city in the country.
Conversions are counted wrongly
Double-counted form fills, reloaded thank-you pages and missing call tracking make an account look better or worse than it is, and automated bidding then learns from bad data.
Measurement is fixed first
We audit every conversion action, remove duplicates, add call and form tracking, and feed real lead or revenue value back to the platform where we can.
Ads show for the wrong searches
Broad and phrase match can trigger ads on loosely related queries, so budget goes to clicks that were never going to buy.
Search terms reviewed continually
We mine search term reports, add negatives, tighten match types and separate brand from non-brand so you can see what new customers really cost.
A targeting radius that crosses boroughs
At nearly 30,000 people per square mile, even a small radius can take in neighborhoods across a river that your customers would never travel from. Budget goes to impressions and clicks you cannot convert.
Targeting by neighborhood and ZIP code
We target the boroughs, neighborhoods and ZIP codes you actually serve, exclude the rest, and adjust bids where leads convert best.
Good clicks, poor landing page
Paid traffic sent to a generic or slow page converts badly, and platforms can charge more for a weak landing page experience.
Pages built for the ad
We match page to message, cut form friction and test variants. See our conversion rate optimization service.
Ads that sound like every competitor
With thousands of young businesses in most categories, search results fill with near-identical headlines and offers. Ads that say nothing specific lose the click to whoever does.
Specific offers, tested head to head
We write ads around what makes you different, such as price, speed, credentials or neighborhood, test them against each other and keep the versions that win.
Reports full of clicks
Dashboards that lead with impressions and clicks hide whether the account is making money.
Reporting on business outcomes
Reports lead with leads, sales, revenue, cost per acquisition and return on ad spend, with plain commentary on what changed and why.
Industries we help in New York.
Six sectors with deep pockets or fierce local competition, and how paid media earns its place in each.
Finance and professional services
The securities industry paid an average of $505,677 per year including bonuses. Firms serving that world get compliant search on specific services and LinkedIn by seniority, with offline conversion tracking so bids learn from signed clients.
Tech and startups
Tech:NYC tracked 211,800 tech jobs as of June 2025. SaaS and fintech companies get search on high-intent comparison terms and LinkedIn account targeting, reported as cost per demo and pipeline.
Health care and clinics
Health care has been the main driver of city payroll growth for three years. Clinics and practices get borough-level search, call tracking and in-language ads where their patients need them.
Restaurants, hotels and attractions
Nearly 65 million visitors came in 2024. We target visitors before they arrive as well as residents, and plan budget peaks for Restaurant Week, the US Open and the holiday season.
Media and advertising businesses
Film and television, including advertising and media buying, accounted for 100,200 jobs in the latest city study. We run B2B campaigns aimed at brand and agency buyers who know exactly how good targeting looks.
Retail and ecommerce
Retail sales reached about $169.2 billion in 2022. Stores and online brands get Shopping, Performance Max and local inventory campaigns, with holiday budgets planned months ahead.

How PPC advertising works.
Most PPC platforms sell ad space through an auction that runs each time someone searches or scrolls. You choose who you want to reach and what you are willing to pay for a result. The platform then decides whether your ad enters the auction and where it appears.
On Google Ads, position depends on Ad Rank, which combines your bid with the quality of your ad and landing page and the context of the search. That is why the highest bidder does not always win, and why a relevant ad on a fast page can cost less per click than a poor one. Quality Score, a 1 to 10 diagnostic shown in the account, is a useful signal of how well keyword, ad and landing page fit together.
Other platforms work on similar principles with different inputs. Meta and LinkedIn weigh your bid against how likely the audience is to engage. Managing PPC well means knowing what each auction rewards and shaping the account to match. For the biggest platform, see our Google Ads management service.

PPC and SEO work best together.
Paid search buys speed and control. You can be on page one tomorrow, target exact audiences and switch budgets on and off. Organic search builds an asset that keeps bringing traffic without a cost per click. Each channel makes the other cheaper to run.
Search term data from paid campaigns shows which keywords convert, so we know which pages are worth ranking for. Organic data shows which pages already convert, so we know where paid clicks will land well. Bfree is a good example: running Google Ads management alongside SEO, sales rose 1000% and organic traffic 192%.
If you are deciding where to start, our guide to SEO vs PPC vs SEM sets out the trade-offs, and our SEO service covers the organic side.

Areas we serve in New York.
We manage paid campaigns remotely for businesses across all five boroughs. In Manhattan that includes Midtown, the Financial District, Hudson Yards, Flatiron, SoHo, Chelsea, Harlem and the Upper East Side.
In Brooklyn we work with firms in Williamsburg, DUMBO, Park Slope and Downtown Brooklyn, and around the Navy Yard. In Queens our targeting covers Long Island City, Astoria, Flushing and Jamaica, and we also cover Fordham in the Bronx and St. George on Staten Island. Each borough and neighborhood can have its own bids and budget, because costs and conversion rates differ block by block.

What are PPC management services?
PPC management services cover the planning, setup, daily running and reporting of pay per click advertising. That includes keyword and audience research, ad copy and creative, bidding and budgets, tracking, landing page advice and regular reporting, across platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Meta and LinkedIn.
How is PPC different from SEO?
PPC buys visibility. You pay per click or action, results start quickly and you control who sees the ad. SEO earns visibility over months and has no cost per click, but takes longer to build. Most businesses do best running both, each informing the other. Our guide to SEO vs PPC vs SEM goes through the trade-offs.
Which PPC platforms should I advertise on?
It depends on where your buyers are and what a customer is worth. Search ads suit people who already know what they want. Shopping suits online stores. LinkedIn suits B2B lead generation. Meta and TikTok suit demand creation and visual products. We recommend a mix after understanding your margins, not a fixed package.
Do you work with New York businesses?
Yes, remotely. We plan campaigns and review results with clients over video calls, and every account has shared reporting that shows spend, leads and revenue in real time, so you can check progress without waiting for a meeting.
How long does it take to see results from PPC?
Traffic starts as soon as campaigns are approved, but useful conclusions take longer. Platforms need data to learn, so expect the first weeks to be about collecting it and removing waste, with efficiency improving as tests conclude. Linen House cut marketing cost by 40% while paid revenue grew 109%, which is the pattern good management aims for.
How do I know if my PPC campaigns are working?
Judge them on business results: leads, sales, revenue, cost per acquisition and return on ad spend, not clicks or impressions. That only works if conversion tracking is accurate, so we check tracking first. Where possible we tie ad data to real sales or lead quality, not just form fills.
Should I manage PPC in-house or hire an agency?
In-house works when you have someone with the time and platform experience to keep accounts current. An agency suits teams that need experts across several platforms, fresh testing ideas and reporting that ties spend to revenue. Many businesses start with an agency and bring parts of the work in-house later.
Why are clicks so expensive here, and how do you keep costs down?
Finance, tech and national brands push up bids in many categories. We lower your average cost by targeting only the neighborhoods you serve, focusing on specific high-intent searches, improving ad and landing page relevance and cutting queries that do not convert.
Do you provide PPC audits?
Yes. An audit reviews your account structure, tracking, keywords and search terms, ads, budgets and landing pages, then ranks the fixes by likely impact. See our Google Ads audit, or use the form below to ask for a review.
What is remarketing and why does it matter?
Remarketing shows ads to people who have already visited your site or engaged with your brand. Most visitors do not convert on the first visit, so remarketing keeps you in front of warmer audiences, usually at a lower cost per conversion than cold traffic. Linen House used remarketing as part of the campaign that grew paid revenue 109%. See our remarketing service.
Can you plan campaigns around Restaurant Week and the holidays?
Yes. We set budgets, ads and offers ahead of Restaurant Week, the US Open and the holiday season, then scale back afterwards, so peak demand is funded and quiet weeks are not overspent.
What should I look for in a PPC agency?
Ask who owns the ad accounts, how conversions are measured, what the reports lead with, and how spend is split by margin. Look for published results in your kind of business, not just headline figures. Be wary of agencies that report clicks and impressions but cannot show revenue or cost per lead.
