Wellington's LinkedIn Ads Partner
Wellington LinkedIn Ads for government, tech and consultancy firms selling into long procurement processes. Nobody signs off from a single ad in this market, so we run sequenced campaigns that build familiarity across an entire evaluation cycle.
Real Mojo Dojo clients, on the record.
Selling to the capital after the public sector cuts.
No New Zealand region produces more per person. The capital region generated NZ$51.0 billion of nominal GDP in the year ended March 2024, NZ$92,776 per head, and its largest industries by GDP were professional, scientific and technical services, then public administration, then financial and insurance services. It is a market of policy advisers, consultants, lawyers, engineers and technologists, which is exactly the audience LinkedIn describes best.
It has also had a hard couple of years. Data compiled by economist Shamubeel Eaqub and reported by RNZ in December 2024 showed the city had lost 19,430 jobs (11.6%) in a year while public sector roles were being cut nationally. For consultancies and service firms that lived on government work, that has meant finding new clients, often in the private sector, in other regions, or overseas. LinkedIn is one of the fastest ways to test those new markets, because you can target a sector and role anywhere in the country and see within weeks whether the message lands.
Government buying has not gone away, and it is famously slow. Nobody approves a contract from a single ad, and procurement rules limit how much direct selling you can do during a live process. What you can do is build familiarity with the people who will write the brief, long before it is issued. Useful research, clear points of view and visible senior people do that job better than a sales pitch.
So most of our programmes here start with thought leadership, use retargeting to stay present through long evaluations, and add recruitment campaigns when experienced people leaving the public service are exactly who you want to hire.
The capital region by the numbers.

Industries we help in Wellington.
The sectors that shape the capital’s economy, and what a LinkedIn programme does for each.
Consulting and professional services
The region’s largest industry by GDP. Policy, engineering and legal firms use partner-led posts and research to reach public and private sector leaders, and to open new markets beyond government clients.
Suppliers to central government
Public administration is the second-largest industry. We reach policy managers, programme leads and procurement staff by agency and function, building familiarity long before a brief is published.
Financial and insurance services
One of the three largest industries in 2024. Insurers, fund managers and fintechs run compliant campaigns aimed at finance, risk and technology decision makers across New Zealand.
Software, telecommunications and digital
Tech firms here sell nationally and offshore. Named-account lists and conversation ads help them reach CIOs and product leaders far beyond the capital.
Screen and creative industries
With 1,698 screen sector firms in 2021, the region exports creative services. LinkedIn lets studios and post-production houses reach producers, commissioners and technical talent overseas.
Health and social services
Health care is one of the region’s larger industries. Technology and service providers reach operational and clinical leaders at health organisations and NGOs by role and employer.
Wellington firms: find buyers beyond government
Book a strategy session and we will size the sectors and roles you could target next, estimate a realistic cost per lead and tell you honestly whether LinkedIn is worth testing.
Areas we serve in Wellington.
Our clients come from Lambton Quay and the central business district, the Thorndon and Pipitea government precinct, Te Aro, Cuba Street and Courtenay Place, and the waterfront. Screen and creative businesses in the Miramar precinct are a natural fit for campaigns aimed at international buyers.
Across the harbour and up the coast we work with firms in the Lower Hutt CBD, Petone, Seaview and Gracefield, Upper Hutt and the Porirua city centre. All of it happens remotely, with video calls when you want them and a live report that is always open.
Why LinkedIn needs its own approach.
Six ways it differs from search and social platforms, and why each matters for long procurement cycles.
Discovery, not search
There is no keyword to bid on. People are in a feed, so the ad has to earn attention with a clear offer for a specific role.
Targeting by who, not what
Job title, function, seniority, industry, company size and named account lists let you reach the buying committee, not just anyone interested in the topic.
Higher cost per click, higher value per lead
The audience is narrow and professional, so clicks cost more. We work backwards from what a qualified lead is worth to set budgets and bids.
Long sales cycles need repeat exposure
A buyer rarely acts on the first ad. Retargeting and frequency control keep you in front of the same accounts while the deal matures.
The offer matters more than the ad
A guide, benchmark, webinar or audit that solves a real problem beats a generic 'contact us'. We help you develop the lead magnet, not just the ad.
Lead quality is measurable
With tracking and CRM feedback we can see which audiences and offers produce opportunities, and move budget away from the ones that only produce form fills.

The components of our LinkedIn Ads management.
Everything we handle, from the first list of target agencies and firms to the monthly pipeline review.
LinkedIn Ads strategy. Objectives, audience, offer, funnel stages and budget agreed against your sales targets before anything is launched.
Audience research and sizing. Job titles, functions, industries and named company lists, sized so you know what spend the audience can absorb.
Account and campaign structure. Campaigns, audiences and ads organised so results are readable and tests are clean.
Ad creative and copywriting. Single image, video, carousel and document ads written for one role at a time.
Lead magnet development. The guide, report, webinar or audit that gives a busy decision maker a reason to hand over their details.
Lead gen forms and landing pages. Pre-filled forms and dedicated pages, tested against each other for qualified leads.
Message and conversation ads. Inbox campaigns for high-value accounts, written to read like a person, not a broadcast.
Retargeting and matched audiences. Website visitors, video viewers, contact lists and company lists, kept apart from your cold prospecting so each gets the right message.
Tracking and attribution. LinkedIn Insight Tag, conversion events and CRM integration so leads can be followed through to revenue.
Bidding, budgets and frequency. Budget pacing, bid strategy and frequency control so spend goes to the people most likely to convert.
A/B testing. Structured tests on audience, offer, creative and form, with a decision recorded for each.
Monthly reporting. Spend, cost per qualified lead, opportunities and pipeline, with a clear recommendation for the next month.
The LinkedIn formats we use.
A policy consultancy may lean on document ads carrying research, a Miramar studio on video. We choose by the task.
Single image and video
The workhorse feed formats for awareness and lead generation, built around one clear message.
Carousel and document ads
Let prospects flick through a framework, checklist or short report without leaving the feed.
Thought leader ads
Promote posts from your own leaders so buyers see people, not just a logo. See thought leadership ads.
Message and conversation ads
Direct to the inbox of a named audience, with a clear ask and, where it suits, a choice of replies.
Lead gen forms
Pre-filled forms that cut friction and lift submissions, synced to your CRM.
Retargeting
Bring back people who visited your site, watched your video or opened your form. See LinkedIn retargeting.

Insight Tag, conversion events and CRM connection are installed and tested before any budget is spent.
Creative and lead magnet
We write and design the ads, forms and landing pages, and develop the lead magnet with you.

Report and scale
Monthly reporting on qualified leads and pipeline. Budget moves to what produces revenue and stops going to what does not.
B2B results from our other channels.
We have not published a LinkedIn-only case study. These two B2B engagements show how we track growth in leads and traffic through other channels.
“Their team understood our business before we even had to explain it. Enquiries are up 250% and the quality is better than ever.”
The most expensive click in B2B. How to make it pay.
Offers, lead magnets and the full funnel, an offer worth stopping for, a funnel built before the campaign, and the follow-up that turns a download into a deal.

Do you work with Wellington businesses?
We do, remotely. Planning sessions and monthly reviews take place over video calls in New Zealand hours, and a shared report shows spend, leads and opportunities as they come in.
What does a LinkedIn Ads agency do?
A LinkedIn Ads agency plans, builds and runs your paid campaigns on LinkedIn. That covers audience and offer research, account structure, tracking, ad creative, lead magnets and landing pages, bidding and budgets, and reporting. The aim is a steady flow of the right decision makers entering your pipeline, at a cost per qualified lead that your sales numbers can support.
How is LinkedIn advertising different from Google Ads?
Google Ads catches people who are already searching for what you sell. LinkedIn is a discovery platform: nobody searches for your service on it, so you interrupt a professional with a relevant offer based on who they are, such as job title, seniority, industry and company. That changes the ad copy, the offer and the funnel. If you want both, see our Google Ads management service, and we plan the two channels together.
Can LinkedIn help us win government work?
It can help you be known before the work is procured, which is where most of the advantage lies. We target agencies and functions relevant to your services with research, commentary and events, and we pause direct sales messaging for any agency where you are in a live procurement. LinkedIn does not replace the tender process, but it makes your name familiar when the evaluation panel reads your response.
Is LinkedIn advertising worth it for B2B?
It is worth it when a customer is valuable enough to justify a higher cost per click and when your buyers can be identified by job title or company. It is usually the wrong channel when a sale is worth a few hundred dollars or when your buyer could be anyone. We will tell you which side of that line you are on before you spend anything.
What LinkedIn ad formats do you run?
Single image and video ads, carousel and document ads, message and conversation ads in the LinkedIn inbox, lead gen forms that pre-fill from the member's profile, and retargeting to website visitors and uploaded lists. We choose the format by the job it has to do. See our thought leadership ads and LinkedIn retargeting pages for two formats we run often.
How do you target the right people on LinkedIn?
We combine job title, job function, seniority, industry and company size with lists of the specific companies you want to win, and layer in matched audiences such as website visitors and your own contact lists. Then we exclude the people who should never see the ad, such as existing customers, competitors and your own staff, because wasted impressions are what make LinkedIn expensive. For a deeper look, read our guide to LinkedIn custom audiences.
We relied on public sector clients. Can LinkedIn find new ones?
That is one of the most common briefs we hear. We usually test two or three new segments side by side, for example private sector finance, other regions, or overseas buyers, each with its own offer. Within a couple of months you can see which segment responds at a cost your margins can support, and move budget there.
How long does it take to see results from LinkedIn ads?
Plan on the first four to six weeks as a learning period. We test audiences, offers and creative, and cut what does not work before we scale what does. You will see leads and cost per lead early. Revenue takes longer because B2B sales cycles are long, which is why we also report on qualified leads and opportunities from your CRM, not only form fills.
Should I use LinkedIn lead gen forms or a landing page?
In our experience, lead gen forms usually deliver more submissions at a lower cost per lead because the form is pre-filled and the member never leaves LinkedIn, while landing pages usually deliver higher lead quality because the visitor reads more and commits more. We test both against the same offer and judge them on qualified leads, then keep the one your sales team actually wants to call. Our conversion rate optimisation team builds and tests the landing pages.
Do you measure results beyond leads?
Yes. We install the LinkedIn Insight Tag and conversion tracking, connect LinkedIn to your CRM where you have one, and report on qualified leads, opportunities and pipeline. We flag when a cheap lead source is producing leads that never become deals, so budget moves to the audiences that produce revenue.
Can you run LinkedIn alongside Google Ads, SEO and Meta ads?
Yes, and it usually works better that way. LinkedIn creates demand among the people you want to sell to, while search and organic content capture them when they go looking. We run Google Ads, B2B SEO and Meta ads under one plan so budget follows performance across channels.
