#1 PPC Management Agency in Sydney

Sydney PPC management for Australia's largest and most expensive paid search market. Finance, media and professional services firms compete hard for every keyword here, so we cut wasted spend with precise match types, audiences and landing pages that hold up under Sydney auction pressure.

Sydney

Many markets inside one expensive auction.

Close to 600,000 small businesses, 594,855 at June 2023, share the greater metro area with the head offices of the country's banks, insurers and professional firms. In the City of Sydney local area, finance and insurance produce about $44 billion a year and professional services about $28 billion. Those sectors bid hard for search terms, and national advertisers bring national budgets. For a smaller business, paying for the same city-wide keywords is usually the quickest way to spend a month's budget by Wednesday.

The way out is to stop treating the metro area as one place. Parramatta, Macquarie Park, the North Shore and the fast-growing fringes behave like separate markets, and searchers say so: they type Inner West, Hills District or Eastern Suburbs, not just the city name. Growth is concentrated at the edges too, with Box Hill in the outer north-west up 17% in 2024-25. And 42.0% of households used a language other than English at the 2021 Census, led by Mandarin, Arabic and Cantonese, so language is a targeting choice as well.

PPC management, done properly, is the ongoing work of picking those smaller auctions, writing ads that win them and moving budget to whatever returns the most, across Google, Microsoft, Meta and LinkedIn. We judge accounts on leads, sales and revenue. If you are weighing paid against organic, start with our guide to SEO, PPC and SEM, then see how our SEO work supports the same pages.

Why accounts underperform

Where PPC budgets leak, and what we do about it.

Six common ways paid budget is wasted, including two that bite hardest in a high-cost market.

Tracking
Problem

Conversions are counted wrongly

Double-counted form fills, reloaded thank-you pages and missing call tracking make an account look better or worse than it is, and automated bidding then learns from bad data.

Solution

Measurement is fixed first

We audit every conversion action, remove duplicates, add call and form tracking, and feed real lead or revenue value back to the platform where we can.

Search terms
Problem

Ads show for the wrong searches

Broad and phrase match can trigger ads on loosely related queries, so budget goes to clicks that were never going to buy.

Solution

Search terms reviewed continually

We mine search term reports, add negatives, tighten match types and separate brand from non-brand so you can see what new customers really cost.

Competition
Problem

Bidding head to head with national budgets

City-wide terms in finance, legal, property and health attract banks and national chains. Matching their bids on broad keywords drains a smaller budget with little to show for it.

Solution

Win the auctions they neglect

We find the longer, more specific searches and suburb-level terms that big advertisers ignore, bid there first, and only move up to head terms when the numbers support it.

Regions
Problem

One landing page for a polycentric city

A buyer in Parramatta, one on the North Shore and one in the Eastern Suburbs want to see that you serve them. A single generic page converts all three poorly and raises what you pay per click.

Solution

Pages that match the region and the ad

We recommend region and service landing pages that repeat the promise in the ad, carry proof and keep forms short, then test them with our conversion rate optimisation team.

Creative
Problem

Stale ads and creative fatigue

Ads that never change lose click-through rate, and on social platforms audiences tire of seeing the same creative.

Solution

Structured testing

We run controlled ad and creative tests, keep winners and retire losers, so learning compounds instead of resetting.

Reporting
Problem

Reports full of clicks

Dashboards that lead with impressions and clicks hide whether the account is making money.

Solution

Reporting on business outcomes

Reports lead with leads, sales, revenue, cost per acquisition and return on ad spend, with plain commentary on what changed and why.

Industries

Industries we help in Sydney.

The sectors that set click prices here, and the part paid media plays for each.

01

Banking, finance and insurance

The largest sector in the city's CBD local area by output. We build compliant ad copy, exact-match campaigns for high-value products, and conversion tracking that separates real applications from casual enquiries.

02

Professional and business services

Around 59,000 professional and business services jobs sat in the City North precinct in 2022. For law, accounting and consulting firms we pair LinkedIn by seniority with search on specific services, and report cost per qualified lead.

03

Technology and SaaS

Computer system design was the second-largest industry of employment for residents in 2021. SaaS and IT firms get search and LinkedIn campaigns that report on trials, demos and pipeline, not just sign-up clicks.

04

Health and allied health

Hospitals employed 98,480 residents in 2021. Clinics get suburb-level search, call tracking and, where the patient base needs it, ads in Mandarin, Arabic or Cantonese.

05

International education

NSW earned $19.5 billion from international education in 2024. Colleges and student services need multilingual search and social campaigns timed to the February and July intakes.

06

Hospitality, venues and events

International visitors spent $12.2 billion in the year to March 2025. We plan budgets around Mardi Gras, the winter light festival and New Year's Eve so venues are visible in peak weeks.

In depth

How PPC advertising works.

Most PPC platforms sell ad space through an auction that runs each time someone searches or scrolls. You choose who you want to reach and what you are willing to pay for a result. The platform then decides whether your ad enters the auction and where it appears.

On Google Ads, position depends on Ad Rank, which combines your bid with the quality of your ad and landing page and the context of the search. That is why the highest bidder does not always win, and why a relevant ad on a fast page can cost less per click than a poor one. Quality Score, a 1 to 10 diagnostic shown in the account, is a useful signal of how well keyword, ad and landing page fit together.

Other platforms work on similar principles with different inputs. Meta and LinkedIn weigh your bid against how likely the audience is to engage. Managing PPC well means knowing what each auction rewards and shaping the account to match. For the biggest platform, see our Google Ads management service.

In depth

PPC and SEO work best together.

Paid search buys speed and control. You can be on page one tomorrow, target exact audiences and switch budgets on and off. Organic search builds an asset that keeps bringing traffic without a cost per click. Each channel makes the other cheaper to run.

Search term data from paid campaigns shows which keywords convert, so we know which pages are worth ranking for. Organic data shows which pages already convert, so we know where paid clicks will land well. Bfree is a good example: running Google Ads management alongside SEO, sales rose 1000% and organic traffic 192%.

If you are deciding where to start, our guide to SEO vs PPC vs SEM sets out the trade-offs, and our SEO service covers the organic side.

How it works

How our PPC management works.

Six stages, from agreeing the economics to monthly reviews held over video.

STEP 01

Goals and economics

We learn your margins, lead value, sales cycle and targets so success is defined in money, not clicks.

STEP 02

Account and tracking audit

We review any existing accounts and fix measurement before we touch budgets.

STEP 03

Strategy and budget plan

Channel mix, budget split and targets are agreed with you before anything launches.

STEP 04

Build and launch

Campaigns, ads, audiences and landing pages go live with tracking already in place.

STEP 05

Ongoing optimisation

We review search terms, bids, budgets and creative tests, and move spend toward what returns most.

STEP 06

Reporting and review

Monthly reporting on leads, revenue and return on ad spend, then a plan for the next month.

Areas

Areas we serve in Sydney.

We run paid campaigns remotely for businesses across the metro area. Around the harbour that includes the CBD, Surry Hills, Pyrmont, Alexandria, Redfern, Newtown, Bondi Junction and Manly, with Chatswood and Macquarie Park across the bridge.

Westward, accounts cover Parramatta, Castle Hill, Bella Vista, Baulkham Hills, Blacktown, Marsden Park, Box Hill and Penrith. In the south and south-west we target Merrylands, Bankstown, Liverpool, Campbelltown, Hurstville and Cronulla. Each area is set up with its own location bids and ad copy, because a click in Liverpool and a click in Manly rarely cost or convert the same.

What are PPC management services?

PPC management services cover the planning, setup, daily running and reporting of pay per click advertising. That includes keyword and audience research, ad copy and creative, bidding and budgets, tracking, landing page advice and regular reporting, across platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Meta and LinkedIn.

How is PPC different from SEO?

PPC buys visibility. You pay per click or action, results start quickly and you control who sees the ad. SEO earns visibility over months and has no cost per click, but takes longer to build. Most businesses do best running both, each informing the other. Our guide to SEO vs PPC vs SEM goes through the trade-offs.

Which PPC platforms should I advertise on?

It depends on where your buyers are and what a customer is worth. Search ads suit people who already know what they want. Shopping suits online stores. LinkedIn suits B2B lead generation. Meta and TikTok suit demand creation and visual products. We recommend a mix after understanding your margins, not a fixed package.

How long does it take to see results from PPC?

Traffic starts as soon as campaigns are approved, but useful conclusions take longer. Platforms need data to learn, so expect the first weeks to be about collecting it and removing waste, with efficiency improving as tests conclude. Linen House cut marketing cost by 40% while paid revenue grew 109%, which is the pattern good management aims for.

Why do clicks cost so much here, and can you lower them?

Finance, legal, property and health draw national advertisers into the same auctions, which pushes up city-wide terms. We lower your average cost by moving spend to specific, suburb-level and long-tail searches, improving ad and landing page relevance, and cutting queries that never convert.

How do I know if my PPC campaigns are working?

Judge them on business results: leads, sales, revenue, cost per acquisition and return on ad spend, not clicks or impressions. That only works if conversion tracking is accurate, so we check tracking first. Where possible we tie ad data to real sales or lead quality, not just form fills.

Should I manage PPC in-house or hire an agency?

In-house works when you have someone with the time and platform experience to keep accounts current. An agency suits teams that need specialists across several platforms, fresh testing ideas and reporting that ties spend to revenue. Many businesses start with an agency and bring parts of the work in-house later.

Do you work with Sydney businesses face to face?

We work with NSW clients remotely. Onboarding, strategy sessions and monthly reviews happen over video calls, and you can see spend, conversions and cost per lead in shared reporting at any time.

Do you provide PPC audits?

Yes. An audit reviews your account structure, tracking, keywords and search terms, ads, budgets and landing pages, then ranks the fixes by likely impact. See our Google Ads audit, or use the form below to ask for a review.

What is remarketing and why does it matter?

Remarketing shows ads to people who have already visited your site or engaged with your brand. Most visitors do not convert on the first visit, so remarketing keeps you in front of warmer audiences, usually at a lower cost per conversion than cold traffic. Linen House used remarketing as part of the campaign that grew paid revenue 109%. See our remarketing service.

Can you target Western Sydney separately from the CBD?

Yes. We set up separate campaigns or location groups for regions such as Parramatta, the Hills District and the south-west, each with its own bids, budgets and ads, so results in one area do not hide weak spend in another.

What should I look for in a PPC agency?

Ask who owns the ad accounts, how conversions are measured, what the reports lead with, and how spend is split by margin. Look for published results in your kind of business, not just headline figures. Be wary of agencies that report clicks and impressions but cannot show revenue or cost per lead.
