Perth

Paid search on Western Australian time.

Greater Perth grew faster than any other Australian capital in 2024-25, up 58,100 people or 2.4%. It is also a long way from everyone else, and it keeps its own clock. The city runs on AWST with no daylight saving, two hours behind the east coast in winter and three in summer. That detail matters more for paid ads than most advertisers realise. Campaigns scheduled, launched and staffed from the east coast can switch ads off before the evening rush here or push calls to a phone nobody answers.

PPC management is the steady work of planning, building and refining paid campaigns on Google, Microsoft, Meta and LinkedIn so they return leads and sales at a cost you can live with. In the west we add a few things to that list: ad schedules set to local hours, targeting that treats the northern corridor, the hills and south of the river as separate markets, and budgets that reflect a state economy tied closely to resources. WA's resources sector recorded $220 billion in sales in 2024-25, and the engineering and supply firms around it buy very differently from a suburban clinic.

Competition is lighter than in the biggest capitals for many local services, but it is not empty. There were 190,679 small businesses in the metro area in 2023, and national brands still bid on city-wide terms. Eastern-states advertisers often do not target the west closely, which leaves gaps for businesses that do. Our guide to SEO, PPC and SEM covers the paid and organic trade-offs, and our SEO service covers the organic half.

We also run this service nationally: see PPC Management Australia. Operating in other cities? See Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Related Perth services include Google Ads, Facebook Ads and LinkedIn Ads. For the full list, see our Perth services.

Why accounts underperform

Where PPC budgets leak, and what we do about it.

Six common leaks in paid budgets, two of them specific to advertising in the west.

Tracking
Problem

Conversions are counted wrongly

Double-counted form fills, reloaded thank-you pages and missing call tracking make an account look better or worse than it is, and automated bidding then learns from bad data.

Solution

Measurement is fixed first

We audit every conversion action, remove duplicates, add call and form tracking, and feed real lead or revenue value back to the platform where we can.

Scheduling
Problem

Ads run on east coast hours

When schedules, bid adjustments and launches are set on eastern states time, ads can go dark during the busiest local hours and calls arrive after the team has gone home.

Solution

Schedules set in AWST

We set ad schedules, bid adjustments and call extensions to local business hours, and check performance by hour of day so spend follows when your customers actually buy.

Geography
Problem

The whole coastal strip treated as one market

The metro area runs from Alkimos to Mandurah. A single campaign spends on suburbs you cannot reach in a reasonable drive, and ranks the northern suburbs and south of the river as if they were the same place.

Solution

Campaigns by region and corridor

We split campaigns by region, set location bids for the corridors you serve and exclude the rest, so every dollar lands where you can deliver the job.

Landing pages
Problem

Good clicks, poor landing page

Paid traffic sent to a generic or slow page converts badly, and platforms can charge more for a weak landing page experience.

Solution

Pages built for the ad

We match page to message, cut form friction and test variants. See our conversion rate optimisation service.

Creative
Problem

Stale ads and creative fatigue

Ads that never change lose click-through rate, and on social platforms audiences tire of seeing the same creative.

Solution

Structured testing

We run controlled ad and creative tests, keep winners and retire losers, so learning compounds instead of resetting.

Reporting
Problem

Reports full of clicks

Dashboards that lead with impressions and clicks hide whether the account is making money.

Solution

Reporting on business outcomes

Reports lead with leads, sales, revenue, cost per acquisition and return on ad spend, with plain commentary on what changed and why.

Industries

Industries we help in Perth.

The west has its own mix of buyers. This is what paid media does for each one.

01

Mining services and engineering

A handful of large buyers, searching for specific capabilities. We run exact-match search on technical terms, LinkedIn targeting by company and role, and remarketing that keeps you visible through long procurement cycles.

02

Professional services

The largest contributor to employment in the city, according to the City of Perth. For accounting, legal and consulting firms we build campaigns around high-value services and measure cost per qualified enquiry, not form fills.

03

Health and allied health

Hospitals employed 46,257 metro residents in 2021, more than iron ore mining. Clinics get booking-focused search with call tracking and ad schedules that match their opening hours on local time.

04

Builders, trades and home services

Construction led the state's growth in 2024-25, up 4.4%. We split budgets between growth corridors such as Alkimos, Ellenbrook and Baldivis and established suburbs, because the cost and quality of leads differ.

05

Tourism and hospitality

Visitors spent a record $19.2 billion in WA in 2025. We fund summer peaks around FRINGE WORLD and Perth Festival with search and Meta, then trim spend when the festival season ends.

06

Defence and marine suppliers

The Henderson precinct will host maintenance for AUKUS submarines. Suppliers need small, compliant B2B campaigns aimed at buyers and primes, not broad consumer traffic.

How we work

Paid channels we manage.

Channels are chosen by buyer and margin. A Welshpool equipment supplier may need search and LinkedIn, a Fremantle venue Meta and Google Maps visibility.

01

Search ads

Capture people already searching for what you sell, with full control of keywords, match types and ad copy across Google Ads management and Microsoft Advertising.

Remarketing

Bring back visitors who did not convert, with audiences built from real behaviour. See our remarketing service.

06

LinkedIn ads

Reach buyers by job title, company and industry for B2B lead generation. See LinkedIn Ads.

07

TikTok ads

Short-form video campaigns for brands whose buyers spend time on the platform. See TikTok Ads.

08

The right mix, not every channel

We will tell you when a channel is not worth your budget yet. A smaller, well-run mix beats a wide one spread too thin.

In depth

How PPC advertising works.

Most PPC platforms sell ad space through an auction that runs each time someone searches or scrolls. You choose who you want to reach and what you are willing to pay for a result. The platform then decides whether your ad enters the auction and where it appears.

On Google Ads, position depends on Ad Rank, which combines your bid with the quality of your ad and landing page and the context of the search. That is why the highest bidder does not always win, and why a relevant ad on a fast page can cost less per click than a poor one. Quality Score, a 1 to 10 diagnostic shown in the account, is a useful signal of how well keyword, ad and landing page fit together.

Other platforms work on similar principles with different inputs. Meta and LinkedIn weigh your bid against how likely the audience is to engage. Managing PPC well means knowing what each auction rewards and shaping the account to match. For the biggest platform, see our Google Ads management service.

In depth

PPC and SEO work best together.

Paid search buys speed and control. You can be on page one tomorrow, target exact audiences and switch budgets on and off. Organic search builds an asset that keeps bringing traffic without a cost per click. Each channel makes the other cheaper to run.

Search term data from paid campaigns shows which keywords convert, so we know which pages are worth ranking for. Organic data shows which pages already convert, so we know where paid clicks will land well. Bfree is a good example: running Google Ads management alongside SEO, sales rose 1000% and organic traffic 192%.

If you are deciding where to start, our guide to SEO vs PPC vs SEM sets out the trade-offs, and our SEO service covers the organic side.

How it works

Our PPC management process.

Six stages, from your numbers to your first monthly report, with meetings booked on video at times that suit you.

STEP 01

Goals and economics

We learn your margins, lead value, sales cycle and targets so success is defined in money, not clicks.

STEP 02

Account and tracking audit

We review any existing accounts and fix measurement before we touch budgets.

STEP 03

Strategy and budget plan

Channel mix, budget split and targets are agreed with you before anything launches.

STEP 04

Build and launch

Campaigns, ads, audiences and landing pages go live with tracking already in place.

STEP 05

Ongoing optimisation

We review search terms, bids, budgets and creative tests, and move spend toward what returns most.

STEP 06

Reporting and review

Monthly reporting on leads, revenue and return on ad spend, then a plan for the next month.

Areas

Areas we serve in Perth.

We manage paid campaigns remotely for businesses along the whole coastal strip. Central clients cover the CBD, Northbridge, West Perth, Subiaco, Leederville and Osborne Park, and the coast from Scarborough and Cottesloe down to Fremantle.

North of the river, accounts reach Joondalup, Duncraig, Wanneroo, Madeley, Darch and the Alkimos growth corridor, plus Malaga, Midland and Ellenbrook to the north-east. South and east we cover Victoria Park, Cannington, Gosnells, Armadale and Byford, then Rockingham, Baldivis and Mandurah. Each region gets its own location settings so budget is not spread across places you do not serve.

What are PPC management services?

PPC management services cover the planning, setup, daily running and reporting of pay per click advertising. That includes keyword and audience research, ad copy and creative, bidding and budgets, tracking, landing page advice and regular reporting, across platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Meta and LinkedIn.

How is PPC different from SEO?

PPC buys visibility. You pay per click or action, results start quickly and you control who sees the ad. SEO earns visibility over months and has no cost per click, but takes longer to build. Most businesses do best running both, each informing the other. Our guide to SEO vs PPC vs SEM goes through the trade-offs.

Will you run our ads on local time?

Yes. We set ad schedules, bid adjustments and reporting to AWST, and hold calls at times that suit your working day. That stops campaigns going quiet in your busiest hours because they were set up on another time zone.

Which PPC platforms should I advertise on?

It depends on where your buyers are and what a customer is worth. Search ads suit people who already know what they want. Shopping suits online stores. LinkedIn suits B2B lead generation. Meta and TikTok suit demand creation and visual products. We recommend a mix after understanding your margins, not a fixed package.

How long does it take to see results from PPC?

Traffic starts as soon as campaigns are approved, but useful conclusions take longer. Platforms need data to learn, so expect the first weeks to be about collecting it and removing waste, with efficiency improving as tests conclude. Linen House cut marketing cost by 40% while paid revenue grew 109%, which is the pattern good management aims for.

How do I know if my PPC campaigns are working?

Judge them on business results: leads, sales, revenue, cost per acquisition and return on ad spend, not clicks or impressions. That only works if conversion tracking is accurate, so we check tracking first. Where possible we tie ad data to real sales or lead quality, not just form fills.

Should I manage PPC in-house or hire an agency?

In-house works when you have someone with the time and platform experience to keep accounts current. An agency suits teams that need specialists across several platforms, fresh testing ideas and reporting that ties spend to revenue. Many businesses start with an agency and bring parts of the work in-house later.

Do you work with Perth businesses?

Yes, remotely. We manage accounts for WA clients over video calls, with shared reporting that shows spend, leads and cost per lead as they happen. You get the same attention as any client, without anyone needing to fly in.

Do you provide PPC audits?

Yes. An audit reviews your account structure, tracking, keywords and search terms, ads, budgets and landing pages, then ranks the fixes by likely impact. See our Google Ads audit, or use the form below to ask for a review.

What is remarketing and why does it matter?

Remarketing shows ads to people who have already visited your site or engaged with your brand. Most visitors do not convert on the first visit, so remarketing keeps you in front of warmer audiences, usually at a lower cost per conversion than cold traffic. Linen House used remarketing as part of the campaign that grew paid revenue 109%. See our remarketing service.

What should I look for in a PPC agency?

Ask who owns the ad accounts, how conversions are measured, what the reports lead with, and how spend is split by margin. Look for published results in your kind of business, not just headline figures. Be wary of agencies that report clicks and impressions but cannot show revenue or cost per lead.

Is PPC worth it for mining and engineering suppliers?

It can be, if it is narrow. Buyers in resources search for specific capabilities rather than general terms. We focus budget on those exact searches and on LinkedIn audiences at the companies you sell to, so a small number of qualified enquiries can justify the spend.
